There's an amazing video game called "SpecOps: The Line" - the entire video game is a United States special operations captain Walker chasing a corrupt Colonel named Konrad. Throughout the game in his constant search of self-glorification as a hero, Walker kills so much innocent people, creates so much bloodshed, destroys entire social infrastructures - and all of it seems to be because of an evil, evil man named Konrad. He finally confronts him, and it turns out - Konrad was dead the entire time. A corpse who killed himself long before the events of the game took place. In fact, the Konrad that Walker was chasing was actually himself - a self created delusion; his mind couldn't take the horrors of the abyss that was his life and all of the death he saw, so he imagined an evil villain in order to create some delusional self-assurance that he himself wasn't the villain. Konrad tells Walker - "It takes a strong man to deny what's standing right in front of him; and when the truth is undeniable, you create your own."
