In my view it is because that is what is natural for you. It is natural to judge a book by its cover. A subconscious instinct to judge based on looks.

People always judge each other based on qualities which they cant control. Its human nature to assign blame and fault, and to think that you are superior. The winners in an rigged game, don't recongize it as rigged, they recongize it as fair.
