My mother is like that too. I've heard "efforts never betray" and "you'd stop being tired and bored if you imagine how successful you could be". This stupid charade ended after many years of fighting and heated discussions, and she just straight up told me "you can only rest and be happy when you die", when i told her i feel overwhelmed by everything.
