Sexual desire is meant to make us breed. We are supposed to breed so we will never break the cycle / re-cycle.

We could also look at it from my pov. There might be beings, higher than us, as they are much farther advanced than us and in fact have created us.

These beings might very well be mortal, just like us, posess physical bodies.
