This is the kind of passive-aggressive sarcastic condemnation you often see in foids who are revolted and wait until Chad is looking away to reveal their ugly self.
They need an outlet for their hatred but show it less overtly to maintain a genteel image for adjacent Chads who are buddies with the ugly guy.
They don't want to offend Chad by too obviously bashing his friend. They don't want to be known as those who mock the weak because this is a clear indicator they would be a bad mother.
