True. A lot of the plot holes came from Toriyama being forced by his studio to continue the story, he did it lazily.The quality of the art was undoubtedly one of the main reasons for the massive success of Dragon Ball, since the storytelling, while not bad, was obviously all done in an improvised and rushed way, full of unintentional and unexplained retcons, which started becoming more and more apparent the more the series progressed.
I honestly think he did a pretty good job until the Frieza saga. After that, the retcons and inconsistencies already started damaging the plot to a significant extent.True. A lot of the plot holes came from Toriyama being forced by his studio to continue the story, he did it lazily.
DB and Death Note are the only Shounen works I truly enjoyed beyond the mere nostalgia effect.I still enjoyed it all though!
