The narrative is still: Poor Ukrainians and badass Zelensky deserves U.S. tax payer money and the evil Putin (friend of Trump) needs to be rooted out and destroyed. The MSM in America has since backed off a bit as they become more concerned with internal U.S. politics. India for the moment is harboring Ukrainians who flee and may continue to do so. At the same time the Modi government has made sure not to support anti-Russia sanctions to any significant degree as India depends on Russia for a number of imports etc.

For example, if you have followed any of Tucker Carlson's reporting on the issue, he has mostly been correct about the surface level and deeper facts regarding Biden and the U.S. Left-leaning politician's motivations surrounding Russia/Ukrain. The majority of the U.S. population it's hard to say. I suspect many of them applauded the anti-Russia efforts.
