Terminator Resistance... Does it get better?

I just started playing it on ps4 and it just seems like a generic fps with some terminator elements tact on. I have been dying heaps and rage quitting, but I don't know if I should just give it more of a chance? The movement feels sluggish and there is no cover system. I should of just tried a horror game instead. Anyone played it? Does it get better?

I played it for maybe an hour then returned it to gamestop. I don't know if it gets better. There's sex scenes in it though so maybe it's worth to push through the bad combat to have sex in first person, but then again you could just watch the cutscenes on naughtygaming.
