How do people still care about this company? All their new games are so sterile and safe. There has not been one time in the last few years where I've actually been excited about a new Nintendo game. I remember in 2017 how excited I initially was to play Odyssey only for it to be a mindless collecthon. That feeling of disappointment is something I harbor towards most modern Nintendo games. There's always something that destroys any anticipation I might feel towards a new game.

Or how every remake is a downgrade because of localizers. Speaking of remakes it feels like the switch is a console that was dominated by them as well as ports.

In fact what I would consider the best switch games

• donkey kong
• Mario Galaxy
• monster Hunter generations ultimate

Are all ports.

I can't believe people are acting like the switch is one of the best consoles of all time.

Switch 2 is going to be even worse due to the budgets increasing for games, meaning they'll play it even safer

Which is why they continue to push some form of craptacular cartoony fag art style on the series as a kind of petulant act of revenge and resentment as well it’s a juvenile middle finger and a huge fuck you to the fan base.

Which of course is extra pathetic of them because getting back at the fans and not simply admitting they were wrong and just going with the realistic art style that everyone wants for Zelda is literally costing them money.

They would have probably made 5 times the amount of money on both BOTW and TOTK had they only swallowed their pride and went with a more realistic graphical style.

Hell there’s even better cartoon styles they could go with if they want to stick with a cartoon presentation such as how the art style for Zelda: OOT looked in the instruction book for the game.

Aonuma is a massive narcissist. He can never take accountability for his decisions. After Majora's Mask experienced a decline in sales instead of understanding that it was the result of the game being late in the N64's life and being drastically different from traditional Zelda he instead blamed the difficulty and massively dumbed down Wind Waker in response.


After Skyward Sword was received less positively than Twilight Princess instead of understanding that this was due to the push to casualise the series as well as the shift in art style, he blamed the traditional Zelda formula all together. A formula that wasn't fully allowed to shine since Ocarina due to being increasingly dumbed down.


Honestly I don't think the BOTW art style is that bad. It has a certain anime appeal. However the art style for the 2D Zelda's is garbage and obviously affecting sales. Yet I guarantee he's going to blame the decrease in sales on less demand for 2d Zelda's instead of the fucking ugly art style.
