I tried 100%ing back in 2020 when 3D all stars came out but I was cucked by the last 1 or 2 blue coins and only got 119 stars, should I replay this game and this time get the blue coins in order?

No. It's not worth completing. Just casually play through it.
What even is the reward for completion? 64 had Yoshi giving you 100 1-ups, Galaxy had Luigi iirc, but Sunshine I don't think you really get anything

Mario games didn't become worth completing untill Galaxy 2 I'll be honest. Galaxy 1 felt like a massive waste of time too and burned me out of the game.
Yeah, Galaxy 2 gives you green stars which were basically replaying every level again to find them, but that was infinitely better than the 1 purple coin level that Galaxy 1 had
I'm talking about the reward. Galaxy 2 has the grandmaster Galaxy right? Galaxy 1 just let you explore the town around peach's Castle. Which was stupidly obnoxious since you had to complete the game twice as boh Mario and Luigi.
I forgot about grandmaster, starting from galaxy 2 there's always a final hard level at the end of the game which is better than what we got before.
Also while not 100% if you got max star bits in both games all that happens is coconuts become watermelons
I never realized that.
