Imagine you live your whole life in a dark room. You are given food and a place to shit and piss but that’s it. The only thing you have is your thoughts. You are kept like this 24/7 and let’s say you knew with 100% certainty you would never be able to escape.

Would suicide not be preferable in this scenario? Any logical person would say yes. And if you’re honest, you would too. What this hypothetical shows is that there are scenarios where suicide makes sense. If you are never going to experience any pleasure in life but instead just immense suffering, not experiencing life at all would be better.
