The first time someone tried to kill me, I was only 4 years old.
Since then, I have had people try to kill me more than a hundred times.
Just today, I got poisoned again.
45 years spent just one step ahead of death.
So, I’ve become a master of emotional relaxation.
My best method is to watch my breath.
Just focus on your breathing.
Notice the air coming in and going out.
Lay down and just breathe.
I know it sounds stupid, but it really works once you practice this method a while.
Another thing that relaxes me is focused eating and drinking.
Just get something to eat or drink and pay attention to it.
Of course, we all eat and drink.
But, we all tend to just shovel our food down quickly and gulp down our drinks.
Notice how it smells, really pay attention to the taste.
Just eat and drink in that moment and only focus on that.
Another method of relaxation is taking a long shower.
I just get in the shower and enjoy the hot water for a while.
Just feel the warmth of the water.
These may sound different than the usual stress relief techniques you have heard of.
But, these are crisis techniques, not general relaxation.
These are methods I use when I am in imminent danger.
