There is still a lot we don't understand. Our perspective of the universe is very limited as a biological organism. The chances of us existing at all in this current form was literally on the verge of impossibility but it still happened for some reason. What scientists right now at the cutting edge of theoretical physics are doing is possibly the most fundamentally meaningful work one could ever hope to do. Figuring out how this shit works
