Strange how I keep hearing this mantra that we are living in difficult times

I think maybe the government pushes this because it makes it seem like it isn't their fault.

That the cause is somehow outside of all of our control including theirs.

I think I tend to accept whatever the world around me is at that time.

Also my life keeps changing too so it can be hard to separate that from societal change.

Is it that things are expensive? A lot of it is just normal inflation though I think.
