I'm a software developer, web specifically. When you share a Youtube link, you are not just sharing the video but also the tracker.

Example:

When you share the link, you are sharing a tracker that tracks:

1. Your youtube accoiunt, who created the sharing URL
2. People who clicked into it, and their youtube accounts
3. The redirect URL (for example it can get where you came from, for example if you clicked the url from this site)
4. Now they have a map of data, the creator and other people who clicked into it.

POSSBILITY

I cannot confirm this, but when you embed a video here via posting a URL, people automatically connect to youtube to get the preview, therefore being subject to tracking without even clicking into the URL.

EDIT: You should be safe.

It can still get where you are coming from, but I assume youtube-nocookie is actually what it means, otherwise you can sue youtube for it. Not too sure about ytimg.

if you're uploading photos from your phone, then I strongly recommend turning off .EXIF data. EXIF data basically shows where the photo was taken (coordinates) and what phone it was taken with. Now why this is bad is because someone could view this data and could potentially lead to you being doxxed or arrested. I know it works for iphones but im not sure if it does for andriods

Nah, I think its on by default so you need to turn it off manually in the settings.

If you put an IP logger that redirects to a image, no one would notice.

If you meant by photo data yes. So remove EXIF before uploading.

It depends. Screenshots are minor, at most they’ll just show the date and time the screenshot was taken. But photos you take with your actual camera carry heavy metadata like your phone model and exact coordinates. I’ve come across like 5 people’s exact location cuz they posted something like their pet, dinner or scenery etc

How to do this on an android phone?

Take screenshot of the photo you took (with a camera) and crop it, upload the screenshot only of the photo. Otherwise of quality is concern, you can look online on how to do it; there are apps and galleries that let you delete them
