but guess what? 17 million were killed in by nazis in the holocaust.

according to statista, it was 17,386,900 (including 6 million jews). according to TIME, it was 16,962,000 (including 5.9 million jews). 6,000,000/17,386,000=34.51% and 5,900,000/16,962,000=34.78%

This means only about 35% were Jews. There were 5,700,000 Soviet civilians killed and 3 million Soviet prisoners of war killed. This means Russians were almost as likely to be killed and even more likely to be killed (8,700,000) if you include the prisoners of war. 1.8 million Polish non-Jews were killed. and other ethnicities were killed. people complain about gays being killed but only 3,000 gays were killed. that's way below 1% of victims.

And this includes as many as 220,000 Gyspies, and unknown numbers of homosexuals, criminals, German political opponents, resistance activists, etc. Thus, the percent of victims who were Jews could be lower than 35%.

Nothing really. My ancestors are Russian kike, which means it was double over for them. Also, I did know Soviet citizens were killed the most in the war, but I didn’t know they were included in the holocaust numbers.

So if 9 million Russians died in WW2, and that was ~8% of the total population, then the pop. of Russia would be ~112.5 million total.

If we take the number of Jews killed in WW2 to be around 5.9 million, then although it's true 3 million more Russians died, roughly 62% of the Jewish population was killed, while only 8% of Russia was killed.

The Jewish population was absolutely wrecked. Not only that, but from Nazi propaganda it's clear that although lebensraum was aimed at genociding all non-Aryan populations, the Jews were targeted specifically.

So my original point was that the justification for focusing on the Jewish experience during WW2 vs. Russia is a matter of relative deaths. Obv. Russia outlasted WW2 and came out a superpower, so it wasn't *relatively* as bad.
