stalker is too sloppy and rough, pretty much everything is half-baked. But has its charm for me as a slavcel. Fallout is a more complete and self aware experience, has deeper lore, factions, more mechanics, etc etc

I've never played Stalker so naturally I'll pick Fallout.

The OG Fallouts and New Vegas are what's carrying it tbh. Fallout 3, 4, 76 are shit.

Stalker has way better combat with ai that are a threat to you the player while in 3d Fallouts it's just easy mode unless you rushed the map and decided to fight instantly against deathclaws AI in Stalker is not just about the combat but npcs that go all around the map to do their quests and live their lives it's great, while in Fallouts they only have a very simple day/night cycle. Story in Stalker was an afterthought and you may get a bad ending out of nowhere just by touching a fucking stone, factions were also not as fleshed out, in Fallouts story, faction lore and worldbuilding was way more important than the combat. I prefer Stalker overall but Fallouts are cool too.

Yeah Metro is super linear only last game had some semi-open world areas that were like OG Stalker games but there only few of them so they felt like a half assed effort.
