The Soviet Union, for its good and bad, was not free of blood. Everyone knows about the Kulak killings (whether justified or not) and holodomor but did you know they transferred whole ethnic populations to inhabitable Siberia to be 'forgotten'?

Needles to say, the hostile environment of Siberia and the lack of infrastructure killed many deportees.

This is unique because this is one of events that could be considered genocide in Soviet Union; the red terror was a political killing rather than genocide, which requires a religious/cultural/ethnic group to be targeted.

Bolshevik state terrorism.

It's ridiculous how pinkos today still defend the Soviet Union in a modern moral framework. If they were at least honest and supported these actions of the Soviet state, I would probably respect them more, but no, they are either too brainwashed to accept it, or they know full well that they if do they could never sell their ideology to the masses.

Well I man everybody does that with their favorite states. Nazis deny the holocaust, Colonization apologists defend all the atrocities committed during the colonial era and so on. They were all seen as either fabricated or justified.

Yes, that's what I mean. I am partial for the Third Reich, but I don't deny the numerous atrocities committed during the war.

I really dislike it when people try to moralize the past in order to justify modern ideological rhetoric, but I guess that's the easiest way to promote or discredit an ideology on a large scale. I don't reject an ideology like communism because I think it's particularly “evil” or anything like that, but because it aims to eliminate people like me and reorganize society in a way that I happen to disagree with.
