The Soviet Union, for its good and bad, was not free of blood. Everyone knows about the Kulak killings (whether justified or not) and holodomor but did you know they transferred whole ethnic populations to inhabitable Siberia to be 'forgotten'?
Needles to say, the hostile environment of Siberia and the lack of infrastructure killed many deportees.
This is unique because this is one of events that could be considered genocide in Soviet Union; the red terror was a political killing rather than genocide, which requires a religious/cultural/ethnic group to be targeted.
