I am watching documentaries about the worlds deadliest journeys. So I discovered in South America the rainy seasons lasts 7 straight months. That is rope fuel to money hungry investors. Just imagine if you build a long highway the way you can in North America, the highway will be washed away by the crazy amount of none stop rain falling and slowly eating away at the highway. All that money wasted for nature to wash away.
If there are no roads then there is no point building factories because whats the point if cheap road transport is not possible for 7 months of the year?
The way the climate is I doubt South America will ever develop to be highly industrialised
