There are obviously beliefs like rejecting feminism that are done completely intentionally. But I have noticed I gravitate to contrarian positions without any deeper thought. To use a frivolous example, I began supporting the Paraguayan team as a meme in this world cup. Imagine my surprise when I go onto reddit with this view, I am bashed as if I had called for fascism in America.
