I suspect why China invest so much in robots is because CCP likes stability over anything else, and mass immigration is a big no no for them (though I want 0 immigration or settlements except from other mongoloid countries).
One source of immigration workers is delivery drivers.

Obviously, that comes with issues like worsening unemployment and the need for relatively low working wages/rights (so you have local faces in these jobs).
Perhaps, with sacrifices, robotics is the "great replacement" of immigrants itself.
