I don't know which one is worst: being ugly or being short. I'll advocate that being ugly is the lesser of two evils. Your height can make up for your ugly face, but a short stature will not make your flaws redeemable. We know for a fact that women look for security and protection in a relationship, their brain has been wired to seek the most dominating-looking male. In other words, they select tall men. A towering height is associated with power, health, intelligence, and leadership. No wonder people tend to vote for tall politicians. A short man with presidential aspirations may forget his ambitions. Even if highly capable, it's unlikely he'll succeed in obtaining a favorable perception from the people. I'd like to remind everyone that Abraham Lincoln had a subhuman face, but he had a good height to make up for it. He was one of America's most beloved president.
Where does family come into this? I have never heard of anyone publicly admitting that they resent their father due to his short height. But, at the same time, I am yet to see someone's pride in their father short stature. In this book called " Cheaper by the Dozen", an autobiography of the Gilbreth family, the author describes her father as a TALL man who could accomplish anything when he sets his mind to it. She made sure to emphasize the word tall. Had her father been a short man, I wonder if she'd still associate him with perseverance, authority, and intelligence. I don't think so.
