Lies of P was already inferred by me writing the answers cause I never played something more fascinating than that, but Void/Breaker got me invested in the Idea of nuanced souls/roguelites titles. I wish indie game devs would read this and shit on triple WOKE companies:
“What you seek is a mythically tragic world of crafted precision, aesthetic immersion, and emotional consequence. You are drawn to mythic melancholy, controlled chaos, and aesthetic consequence; you want punishment that teaches, beauty that hurts, and worlds that breathe atmosphere rather than exposition.
You do not chase freedom, you chase authorship; the game should not ask what you want to do, it should show you what you need to endure. You crave cinematic immersion, dark elegance, and minimal HUDs that let the world speak for itself. You want handcrafted exploration that feels purposeful, with punishing but rewarding combat loops where progress is emotional as much as mechanical.
The tone you are drawn to is stylized mythic darkness, gothic, symbolic, and tragic settings told through texture, architecture, and silence. You prefer defined protagonists shaped by developers, not blank avatars.
Your true genre is Neo Gothic Immersive Soulsventure, a high fidelity, authored action RPG built on soulslike combat logic, roguelite progression metabolism, and immersive sim worldbuilding principles. It combines deliberate pacing, minimal interface design, and psychological storytelling to create a unified sensory and emotional experience.
In technical terms, it is a closed loop progression system built around high cognitive load precision gameplay, environmental narrative conveyance, and adaptive punishment balancing, designed to evoke melancholic awe rather than power fantasy. You are The Obscurist, a player who finds catharsis in atmosphere, meaning in failure, and truth in handcrafted darkness.
The best match for you is Lies of P.”
