"Police responded to two interventional calls at a local high school Wednesday for what was thought to be a riot.
Upon entering the gymnasium, according to sources, the assistant basketball coach, 51, of Fort Worth, had mentioned by name a student known as non-athletic, and stated that "we don't want to play like that coward"
The student, 17, responded by rushing the podium, pushing the coach onto his back, and then stomping him 'about the chest and genitals' until other faculty intervened".
The coach was taken to a local hospital via squad, where he was listed in serious condition at 8 pm local time.
The student, an unnamed minor, was taken to local 44 and booked for assault.
"He kicked his a##, " said Britney Brown, a sophomore gymnast.
"Everybody's in shock, the coach outweighed him by 100 pounds at least, but he went down like a sack of cement".
Another student, unnamed, remarked that the assailant "snapped" and he hopes that the coach won't suffer any permanent genital damage.
