Getting too high IQ here. Yes I do agree on the point that being shorter as a human is evolutionarily better. Short men are better hunters because they can stealth better, and they are less susceptible to ankle damage and cancer. And even though taller people can run faster, humans were never about speeding it was always about stamina. Homo sapien females prefered to breed with the neanderthal males because they were short and muscular whereas homo sapien males were tall and lanky. I am not an expert at Anthropology but my educated guess is that people crave for good genes for two sakes: 1. To pass down good genes; 2. To optimize their own genes, but I don't think the second one is sensical.

With all due respect, your parents may have reproduced just because one of your parents are rich, or other non-genetic preponderances.
