There is a trend on silicon valley by soy tech bros called grindcore or 996. Y'know, the dark enlightenment types.
Sometimes I wonder, why is it the chinless losers who are the most delusional? The ones with too much ego, the incels in denial that don't admit that they're incels just like us?
We call those people 高分低能 here; it means: high academic achievement with a lack of common sense; they are very well-educated and possibly intelligent, but delusional.
What should it tell you when even the systems they admire in the likes of Shanghai and HKG, got ridden of 996 or at least made labor laws better?
How does it affect USA when the tech bros got 20% higher total productivity (assuming best scenario)?
What even is the AI arms race against China, when you are surrounded by Chan's, Liu's, Wang's?
You are skinny ass Eugene taking Ivermectin to fight off parasites thanks to your raw meat "Monastic male wellness" diet, not Chad who doesn't have to go to the Gym.
JFL if you care about optimizing O(N) on your code/life. Nah, they don't pay me enough for optimizations that yields 5% speed improvement but makes the codebase 200% harder to read.
Finally, you think you will be commanding an army of robots at your command; let me tell you, you are as disposable as the rest of us, and I say that as a software developer myself.
Some traits:
-9am to 9pm, 6 days a week (72 hours a week if we don't consider transportation time
-Optimized food (like Soylent)
-Use up free time ensure the most boring routine possible
-Drive the most boring, aerodynamic BYD/Tesla EVs
-Lifestyle is a isGood true or false boolean.
-Use the latest 'smart' furniture, connected to the internet
How it backfires:
-Data shows work hours more than 50hrs kill productivity
-Slop is a morale and cultural killer
-Absolutely kills the soul
-They crave aerodynamic so much and even willing to sacrifice fire safety by removing car door handles
-Lifestyle is a mess of microvariables that cannot be, or at least is extremely difficult to account for; it's the most asynchronous callback hell mess (hello, DJI SDKs!) you can think of; don't think you can program yourself to be some Demi-God.
-These smart furniture are one packer sniffer away from being hacked, go walk a few steps, you lazy asses. Lots of restaurants use 'smart' app ordering but have constant disconnecting issues BTW.
