Discussion Should the forum be more strict?

Recently I've been browsing multiple forums, one which caught my attention when I was looking for books is myanonamouse.

What caught my attention about this forum is, unlike our forum, the mods have dedicated enormous amount of sperging into the making of rules and member enrolling process that it became gridlocked and gatekept to the point in which normies will never ever see the light inside or ever ruin or make use of that place.

I know what you're thinking, the main tradeoff with such gatekeeping is that it could risk the privacy of individual members to the mods but in my mind it could happen without the need for members to expose anything that could tamper with their online experience in a similar manner, by pouring lots of autism and sperging and time on the rules and making chat interviews with every enrolling member and I'm sure traffic won't be an issue for applying this kind of approach here.


All in all you could think of it as another layer to keep this place alive and ensure the quality of enrolling members.

Apparently there have been a few foids/outside agitators coming in to write fucked up things and make us look bad in the last week or so.

That said, I don't think that warrants more security. Just deal with them as they come.

There isn't much to discuss in other forums as well. most forums are dead or low in traffic as of this point, new gen of zoomers would rather waste their times on tiktok rather than putting what is barely considered as effort to register on any forum regarding any topic, my point is that I'm refuting the meaning of the "low traffic" argument since it basically applies to 95% of online forums as of now, however some forums have quality and dedication which our forum may or may not need more of?

It's to ensure quality of the forum, it's not just about gatekeeping

Also putting such effort will automatically give more value to the forum and it's members, this reason is laughable but it's real, those members will feel like they're in a more privatized special little place instead of feeling like the forum is slowly transitioning to .club

putting so much effort and enforcing strict rules will encourage users to rot more here as well, it's provable

Most popular inceldom-related forum* there are many other forums, in other languages aswell, with way more actual trucels. Being a user on here has been more of a "hype" thing for the last couple years. I can assure you that at least 90% of users registered since/after 2022, maybe 2023, are under 16.
