Discussion Should I stay in the Army for 20 years, or get out after 4 and use the benefits?

I’m going to be 21 in a few days, so I don’t mind committing 20 years to the Army. I may start a family and marry a woman in my 40s. I plan to live past 90, so I see this as a strong plan. I will be 41 when I retire, and I won’t find this kind of opportunity in most other jobs.

My 20's so far have been brutal but i want to invest them in the army.

You can also attend college while in service and use tuition assistance and save the GI bill if u want to pursue postgraduate

Committing 20 years to the army in the current environment where we are about to start a brand new multipolar warring world seems like a safe bet that you won't live past 90, until you are the fucking Rambo or do everything you can to never see the frontlines.

A person who goes in the army without any previous qualification probably doesn't get one of those roles just like that, he'd have to be really useful from the get go to get one.

You don’t much about the US military then.

Becoming a part of the Infantry requires an above average ASVAB score (87 as opposed to 31, the Army’s minimum score to join).

You have to understand that combat roles in US Army and Military as a whole have very high standards by global standards and have a doctrine that emphasizes professionalism and eliteness. The US Army isn't a third world banana republic's army that relies on masses of conscripts kept in line with whips.

I'm talking about honest Incels here, if you legit Incel and not someone LARPing (which many are) then the army (in the US, RUS or UKR) is actually a good choice.

But it depends how pragmatic you are and your expectations for life and your ability to foresee.

At 19 I already figured my life would lead exactly nowhere, but my state didn't need soldiers back then, and our soldiers are useless as at most you gonna end being some useless blue helmet.

But the US, RUS and URK army actually go to war, the US every four years or so in some shitty third world shithole, you will meet guys there, have some friends, travel from time to time, and even manage to score a superficial GF because some women are stupid to the point of just wanting a man who enlisted.

I'm not saying you should die for the Jews, I'm saying do it for yourself, it gives you discipline that real world does not, you will have to make your bed, wake up early and keep yourself in good shape.

Keep in mind once sworn there's no way back. You can be conscripted in case of shtf.

Most army skills are not transferable to civilian life. But it depends on your position.
Perks increase overtime. Expect raises just because years served. Early retirement is a thing only if you retire from army.

I would join for a minimal amount and see if it's for you. 4 years is either too much or too little.

Really depends the type of individual you are, before I joined I was a loner, now I do talk to people sometimes after work hours, but really the military will make you enjoy being alone, I have yet to even talk to a woman outside of work, hell even my sargent keeps asking me when will I get a girlfriend
