Serious Should I start taking finasteride?

I don't have any hair loss but should i take it as a preventative measure? I have the genes because my maternal grandfather is bald

your maternal grandfather being bald doesn't mean much. you could inherit his genes or you couldn't. in fact all your family could have the baldness gene and you could have been born and kept a full head of hair

close family's baldness does have a relation with baldness but it's not as simple as looking at ur close family. lots of genes are involved. whether you should take it or not depends on what ur hair is like. do u have bald spots? getting widows peak? stuff like that says you should

Cheers for the reply. I don't have any signs thus far. No thinning or receding but I think I lose like 20-50 hairs a day.

as far as i know 20-50 hairs a day is quite normal. it's normal for hair to fall out as hair follicles follow a cycle. when follicles start dying that's the problem
