I have a pretty good PC (RTX 3080, I9,) but I don't even play games that often anymore as I find it boring and it's just a time waster. I will use the money to help me travel. Is it a good idea?

May as well, while it's still worth something. But travelling alone is a big cope as well.
It might work out okay though, try and do everything while you're still young and have more of a chance!
