***Major update: yes the store was only about 5 blocks away and I could stay on side roads. However, I did go and who do you think ended up right behind me on my side street? Yes the police. After a few blocks I made my right turn towards the store and the cop kept going straight and I’m safely home. Fucking terrible odds getting a cop behind me on such a short trip, but everything worked out ok.
