As of now I'm complete shite at drawing anything, however I'm thinking of learning to draw as a sort of cope. Right now I've drawn like 2 things as part of the learning process. Using the loomis books "Figure draw" and "Drawing the heads and hands." I first started on the 6th of this month with "Drawing the heads and hands" using this page.

And this is what I managed to draw, It's pretty shitty and I don't really know how to resize it properly if a smartcel can help that would be great.

I went on a 3 day hiatus to play vidya after this, and today I focused on figure drawing simple skeleton frames, Using this page.

I think I managed to draw the first set decently, but it's not like it was very hard in the place. Anyway I wanna hear what you guys think, is being a drawcel worth it or is it a useless waste of time cope. If people want I can update my progress every 3 or so days. I need to go to bed now for school so I'll check replies tomorrow. Sorry for the bad formatting i'm low IQ when it comes to this stuff.

Naw just ballpoint and I draw nothing. I am so retarded I hold my pen with my index finger all the way at the top of it wrapped around.

Get fineliners, i use 0.1 and 0.05 ones for shading and detail, the higher numbers i use to fill, better than ballpoint i'd say, ballpoint is good too though.
Check out a guy called AlphonsoDunn on youtube, he makes great pen and ink tutorials.

To do mangas you need to learn:
-anatomy
-shading

Both very important to that i'd say, there is a channel on youtube that films mangakas at work but i forgot its name.

I had roughly a 9 day hiatus from drawing because I got so much chem homework, the first drawing is better then the second because I used a wiki how tutorial lol. https://www.wikihow.com/Draw-an-Anime-Girl. I have a lot more respect for people in the anime industry because I find it really hard to draw shitty anime characters . Anyway I'll continue to draw, I need to go sleep now so goodnight boyos. If anyone's curious I only spend about 2 hours drawing because my hand starts to cramp.

If you want to and have the ambition it is worth a thousand hours LDAR. But looking at a failed drawing and hating yourself for it is terrible, there are times when I can't bring myself to draw. If you want we can PM and keep each other going or send useful videos.

It seems like your problem is that you try too much copying what you are trying to draw and not make the proportions in your head. Stick to it, having nothing after years of rotting is way worse than the feeling of failure.

When I was younger (middle school and below), i used to love drawing, and was a decent artist. However, I had to take a graphic art class my freshman year. They made you graph and plan out every stroke. It ruined drawing for me, and I haven't drawn since. The same could be applied to school killing your desire to read and learn. There's no time with all the bs homework they assign.

Yes, drawing is not a bad cope, especially when you get better. Your first tries don't look bad. If you are annoyed of the book just draw what you like, for example copy a picture out of a book or magazin or the real world, if you have enough patience it will turn out nice
