But if you lower the marriage age, you change the standard for when it's acceptable to be physically intimate with a person. If you're saying it's okay to marry a 12 year old, you're saying it's okay to have sex with a 12 year old. If that's part of the culture, 12 year olds will then start having more sex, if that's what culture has decided is the age where that's okay to do.
I suppose that's a valid point, though I don't think it would make that drastic of a difference for ages above 13
