I've reached a point where I've accepted it so it no longer grosses me out, I stopped seeing myself as "human", as this being above and separate from all the other animals, because really were not, were just like the animals, its just that our mating rituals, socializing practices, etc are more "advanced" (or should I say convoluted) than the other animals, but were still at the mercy of these constructs no different than they are
Humans won't truly be "higher beings" until we no longer have to participate in the game of evolution, and everyone can seek out their own happiness independently
