Cho wrote a poetry named "A boy named LOSER" which is a obvious call for help/venting, a lot of underlying theme can be seen that can be related to people here. So, I will paste it here and do a little translation/motive speculation on it.
All parts that highlights his mental state have been highlighted with color.
I do not support any violent criminals/acts.
a boy named LOSER
a boy named LOSER
walks off the sidewalk, shudders into his house,
and lays his weary head to sleep and dream.
In his dream, he lives two lives,
because in this world he has no life
no class, no friends—just a Moron in this world.
In this section, we can see that LOSER walks anxiously, into his house where he goes home. He, despite the lack of things going on in his life, still lays his "weary head" to sleep, indicating his stress state. LOSER then goes to sleep and dreams, where he lives a intense life (as explained by "two lives", which means his dream has as much importance as his real life, and LOSER has no life). Again, LOSER lacks status (economically/socially) and has no friends, so he is a "moron" in the world.
During the harsh and long hours in the world, LOSER is known by his peers as a loser with no life. "Bright, cruel sun" and "hulls his feet" indicates the day is harsh and LOSER drags his feet into home, again, demonstrating the harshness of real life, while thinking about his dream life.During its long hours in the real world,
it’s no surprise he is LOSER.
[UWSL]Everyone knows[/UWSL][UWSL]—[/UWSL][UWSL]too bad[/UWSL][UWSL]—[/UWSL][UWSL]they say,[/UWSL][UWSL] [/UWSL]only if he had a life.
Under the bright, cruel sun, he hulls his feet into his house.
Thinks about the two other lives.
Keeps on dreaming. Day dream.
This section clearly demonstrates that LOSER does not do much in life but to dream, because when other people are living happy lives, LOSER is suffering under loneliness, as seen by "normal guy throws parties at his house" and this act is not done by LOSER, and as expected that LOSER is excluded from such parties. What to do, what to say but dream.
That’s what losers do in this world,
where normal guys live their happy lives,
worry-free and be themselves, unlike LOSER.
A normal guy throws parties at his house,
[UWSL]but not LOSER[/UWSL][UWSL]—[/UWSL][UWSL]he has no life.[/UWSL]
Be like other normies, LOSER said while dreaming, and he brings a girl to his house, indictating sexual success only in his dream. In real life, LOSER is a male virgin incel who can't bring a girl to his house.Be happy, be normal, get a life,
he says to himself; he can only in his dream:
[UWSL]In LOSER’s l[/UWSL]ittle mind, he brings over a girl to this house.
Only if he could do that in this real world.
[UWSL]LOSER. What can I say, that[/UWSL][UWSL]’s what losers do. LOSER![/UWSL]
Only if LOSER could live his lives.
LOSER can't live normal lives, because he is a loser. Everything he wants (living like normal people, having a girlfriend) is only possible in his dream. LOSER is born in the wrong world, where he is excluded and isolated by everyone. He lives his daily life very badly, as shown by "drag his heavy feet back to the house" where he struggles to go home and dream.[UWSL]Something LOSER can’t ever do!—[/UWSL][UWSL]lives those lives[/UWSL]
and be normal and actually have a life.
You know why he can’t do it? He’s LOSER.
With everything he longs for, all he can do is dream
trapped in this world, in this wronged world.
Nothing to do but drag his heavy feet back into the house.
LOSER lives 'happily' in his dream where no bullies tells him to get a life or mocks him with gestures, or call him a loser. All alone in his little house
he likes to think he’s living his lives,
in his own safe little world.
No one tells him, LOSER, get a life!
No one gives him the hand gesture in his dream.
No one calls him LOSER:
That section in my opinion, is a modified statement of what Cho was probably called in real life, or it can be a self-reflection criticism.[UWSL]Darn straight! This boy really is LOSER[/UWSL][UWSL]—[/UWSL]LOSER with no life!
and he knows it. But he (what can he do) likes to live in his pathetic dream
[UWSL]drowning down in his little quirky house anyway[/UWSL][UWSL]—[/UWSL][UWSL]My Gawd! What a LOSER![/UWSL]
Either way, the poetry reflects Cho's inner desire. He wants to live and be normal, but a combination of mental illness, racism, lookism, status and social skills has led him down a path of destruction. In short, Cho wants
- A girlfriend
- Throw or be in parties
- Have friends
- Have a life where he can live like other normies
- Not be bullied and called loser
- Not having to shelter under the safety of his house, dreaming where he is in a better world.
