Soldier of the Serbian Volunteer Corps Milos Vojinovic with a bouquet of flowers (Uzice, Serbia 1942)
The unit was initially a paramilitary branch of the Zbor movement, yet was later incorporated into the Waffen SS: They were nicknamed “Ljotić's men (Ljotićevci)” or “Belgrades best”
The unit also included a few Croats & Slovenes.
After the fall of Belgrade to the Soviets, they were re-organized into the Serbian SS Corps: Sadly, many were executed after the wars end on charges of treason.
