I've done the calculations. i'm not actually earning net positive until nearly 40 years old. Residency finishes at earliest in early 30s, and you'd need a few more years of actual work beyond that to pay off the massive loans that will incur.

Meanwhile she starts earning straight out of undergrad as SWE. That's like 15 years she has on me before I even start to see any benefits.
