So when I planned out my schedule for my senior year, this is what Iit was:
English(required)
PE(required)
Spanish(required for my district)
Studio Art
Culinary Arts
Computers
Probability and Statistics
Lunch is always included, so they equals 8 periods.
Then, I later signed up for this class called, SLE(Structured Learning Experience), that's job and career-related. I thought my schedule would stay the same, but then I realized I would have 9 periods. The limit is 8, so now I have a problem. I feel for the future, I need to at least take three electives, so I can have three different career options, because I heard when it comes to college, you need to have at least three majors in mind, not one. I got all my credits for math, so this math class is optional, though it can look good for colleges. So I was thinking about switching either the math class or SLE. From what I stated above about SLE, that class could also benefit me.
What do you guys think I should do?

It’s been over a month and still no replies. Isn’t that nigga sadness a incel?

Do you have an idea of what you want to major in? Because depending on what your future college specializes in, that should determine if you take that optional math course or SLE instead.

Assuming the USA, but You in HS? If so, colleges dun give chit about your actual classes outside of their difficulty and your grades. Intended majors can be BS’d in the interview or you can even sell them on undecided so long as you explain the fields you’re passionate about.

I want to major in fine arts.

I have no talents other than art.

Well, that's why you go to college. To become certified in a talent. You don't have to learn the talent at college, you could learn it on the Internet, maybe. But while you're there you need that employability ticket. You need stuff you can put on a resume. Criteria you can match on a Monster.com/Indeed.com application.

Because youre still in high shool "nigga", LOL @ worrying about your high school schedule just take what you must, ask your school counselor to test out of some subjects that you think might be just a waste of your time since youre already proficient in them and fill the rest with APs or the highest possible level sciences (like math and physics) that your schools offering since for both STEM and business theyll come in really useful

I want to major in fine arts.

JFL
Here OP let me fix that schedule

English(required)
PE(required)
Spanish(required for my district)
Calc
Physics
Computers
Probability and Statistics

What about acting? Cuz that was something I had interest in. I did a play in elementary school and took a acting class first half of my sophomore year. And as for computers, I attempted to learn how to type with both hands, and ended up typing with two fingers instead of one. And I kinda suck at computers.

Math was never my strong suite. Same with science.

Don’t major in the liberal arts. If you aren’t going for a science degree, planning on medicine or law, skip college. Seriously. I majored in history and I am still living with my parents in a small area. I currently work as an unpaid intern at a real estate office that used to be paid but the government contract ran out. Please, don’t major in something like English. Unless you have desire to be a teacher avoid the liberal arts like a vampire avoiding sunlight. You are asking for a life of minimum wage jobs. Now I was bad at math and social skills weren’t good but I still ask all young men who are starting college or in college to drop the liberal arts classes. I am not saying you can’t have electives but after you have done everything you can do to graduate with a degree that is going to open doors, do you take film studies or music.

With the amount of stuff available today, there is absolutely noreason to major in theatre, music, etc. YouTube is your friend. Also most great actors and musicians if they had trained at all did it from community college class. Again with YouTube you don’t have to even pay for a class. Yes you can learn some things from Shakespearean acting and Juilliard, but many greats never went to either. Now I don’t know for sure but do you think Ozzy Osbourne went? How about Brad Pitt? The point is that you learn the arts by doing. Yes you can learn theories about character and scales but the arts are not the same as other fields and as a male you need a solid back up plan. You don’t have the luxury of having the pussy pass, and to be honest you probably aren’t Chad either. So remember plan that you probably aren’t going to make it as an actor or musician. ..... Yes, it’s fucking bull shit. Yes, if you really are like me you will probably think “everything else is just a job.” But believe me, as a musician myself I know. It’s hard.

So what to major in? The things that people need. Accounting, lawyer (if you get into a good school and have decent connections), medicine, or business. Even better be a tradesman. Yes, all the brainwashing from high school trying to get you to spend thousands on college will start kicking in with how you might be a “loser” by doing so, but apprenticeships are sometimes paid learning, and unlike liberal arts you can actually use what you learn.

Some advice I found on Reddit.

Honestly, I enjoy doing art. The stuff mentioned above I really have no interest in.

There is a lot of demand for artists in media fields and especially game development.

I think it will be hard for you to break into it since there is so much exposure bullshit in that market and the amount of competition.

I barely play video games. Media could be a interest.

Maybe, but what is fine art? Drawing classical paintings such as Picasso, van Gogh and Monet?

There are many other art options that are highly employable like architecture, 3D modeling is a big one, animation and creating graphics for media companies such as for marketing and news.

Just listing some of the things I see when I do my labour market research, by all means follow you dreams if that makes you happy. But beware of its consequences.

I have 10 required classes for this semester

Its over if you major in art, youll never get a job

People really overlook apprenticeships nowadays. College is extremely risky if the debt can't be paid back.

I know that art majors being useless is a meme to some degree, but do you ever wonder how these people rack up so much debt to begin with. Its because there are no internships available to them to help them start paying off their debt ASAP, and there are no art research grants, scholarships or opportunities either

Just looking through the instagram pages of some of my high school classmates who I know are studying art/music/theater in college now, and most of them are posting beach pictures in bikinis, morning selifes and leg shots of them in their panties lying in their bed at 3 PM

Meanwhile I spend my summers working my ass off

Also LOL @ thinking you will die before you pay off $80k, thats like the price of two cars nowadays, just how little is she making that she cannot pay off $80k over 10 or 20 years let alone 30 or more, how is she gonna buy a place to live then LMFAO

I would love to know that as well. I just found it interesting how these people got a worse situation after picking the wrong career path. People should definitely think more about college and it's long term effectiveness.

Art school is a scam

tbh
Also why the fuck do you have PE? Thought that only goes up to sophmore year, do you live in a shittier place than California?
I live in the east coast.
