So our school has a program where you can get business cards printed for free if you sign up. It’s first come, first served, so I signed up because I want to be a businessperson. The instructions were to sit by the coffee shop, and then someone would come find you and bring you down to the photo booth so you could take your pictures.
While I was waiting, this guy came up to me. He was about 5'4" and had a red mark between his eyes. He introduced himself and shook my hand. I instinctively wiped my hand on my pants afterward. He started talking about whether he could count on my vote for student council or council president or something like that. I just kept nodding and saying I would vote for him while he continued talking.
Then a very cute South American looking girl came up, said hello, and asked if I was who I said I was. I told her yes, and she said, “Okay, come downstairs for your pictures.” As we were about to leave, the guy turned to her and started the same pitch all over again.
You could see on her face that she was uncomfortable. She tried to tell him she was very busy, but he just kept talking. Eventually, she basically said, “Just give me your card and I’ll vote.” He responded by asking her to put her student ID into his phone so he could send her the information about voting for him.
When we finally walked away, I literally heard her breathe a sigh of relief. Usually I’m the one in that situation, but this time it was him, probably only because he looked a tiny bit worse than me. Brutal.
