- Saudi students from at least eight different states have fled the U.S. after being charged or convicted of serious crimes
- Crimes include manslaughter, rape and possession of child porn, to name a few
- Abdulrahman Semeer Noorah is believed to have fled on a jet with the help of the Saudi consulate in June just weeks before his manslaughter trial was starting
- His case made international headlines in December following uproar over the killing of U.S.-based Saudi journalist, Jamal Khashoggi, in October
- Four other Saudi students who were facing similar circumstances to Noorah had also fled in recent years
- The Saudi consulate posted bail of up to $500,000 on behalf of most of the men
