From how a lot of illegal immigrants seem to have a freeloading mentality that might be possible. But this society is not yet in complete collapse. Even then during a time like that where nationalist and tribalist sentiment is heightened the illegal immigrants would probably stick to raiding the spoils and being opportunistic feeders or scavengers on the edges of population centers imo.
