This was Russia's winter military campaign objective and they achieved it. They were willing to pay the price. They don't care how many soldiers they lost, they don't care how many vehicles they lost, they don't care what price they're paying, to advance on a relatively insignificant town. The pr-war population of this town was 32000 and Russia lost over 50000 just in the last 4 months fighting for it.

And let's put into perspective how incompetent the Russian military is. Prior to this invasion, everyone said Russia was the #2 military in the world and Russians have had to beg the Iranians and North Koreans for military help. Meaning that the combined assault of Russia, Iran and North Korea spent 4 months to capute a small city of 32000. How is Russia ever gonna take Zaporizhzhia, a city of 700000? How are they going to take Kharkiv, a city of 1.5 million, or Odessa, a city of over 1 million?

The right one is where they started and the left one is where they've gotten in 2 years. 2 years of fighting and they've advanced 7 km.

Russia's territorial objective is to get to the left one, the borders of Donetsk, that's another 60km. At the rate they're going, this is gonna take the Russians another 10 years to get the entirety of the Donbass region. Russia doesn't have 10 years.

Russia is incapable of taking a city and not completely ruining it.

Russia's Avdiivka losses are higher than the entire Soviet-Afghan War. The Russians spent a decade fighting in Afghanistan and Putin lost more soldiers in the last 4 months taking a small city.

Most (73%) Americans say the war is important to American interests and this has gotten higher over the last 6 months.

Ukraine is never going to surrender. This is a genocide, Russia is coming to steal children, destroy their cities and enslave their people, so Ukraine is using everything they can and they're never going to stop. These planes were most likely shot down by Patriot launchers and Russia refuses to realize that. They keep sending their pilots to the combat line to get shot down by these roaming Patriot launchers.

Still hard to say at the moment. Obviously this war wasn't what everyone thought it to be. Russia has more supplies and people however, what happens when most of the Ukrainian soldiers are dead?

Doesn't matter how many they lose. They have bigger population to draw from unlike Ukraine where men have had to make themselves prisoners in their own homes to avoid being kidnapped by Ukrainian army.

I hope we get to nuke M*scow one day.

Russia loses several millions as well (casualty rates are similar or in favor of Ukraine depending on the battle) and takes Ukraine, however becomes militarily paralyzed as they won't be able to have enough manpower to wage any war of a similar scale ever again. Russia's population has declined by 4 million people in the last 30 years (from 148 to 144 million) even with mass migration of Russians from ex-Soviet states and Central Asians and it's projected to lose over 10 million people in the next 25 years solely due to very low fertility rates and abortions.

In the scenario you mentioned, Russia takes Ukraine, however every Ukrainian city that's been "liberated" by Russia is completely ruined and would need billions of dollars to repair. The populations Russia would take would be useless as they would have zero manpower. Most soldiers fighting for Russia are/were from the Donbass region and those have been depopulated of their fighting age males.

its all part of the (((plan)))

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The biggest mistake Ukraine ever did was giving Russia their nukes in the 90s. They should have refused and go full kamikaze mode back then and completely ruin Russia.

Ukrainians are tired of this war, they aren't putting a bent in anything significant or seeing any explosive forward momentum, and zelenkike's top brass are aware of this which is why he has them fired for not agreeing with his no-step-back Stalin-era wartime policy that has slightly disproportionate casualties so he can sell it to the masses.

Those poor young men.

This war could go on forever. Ukraine is huge and Russia has only taken about a fifth of it. And Russia has population problems as it is, massacring hundreds of thousands of fertile young men isn't a great solution, Vlad.

Death to America.

I hope NATO criminals pay for their horrible act of inciting this war.

Military casualties are not released by either Russia or Ukraine.
