Russia still not calling up reserves

Considering the war situation, and that Russia has 1 million active duty military soldiers and 2 million reserves, wouldn't you at minimum call up a lot of reserves for training and getting ready in case they are needed.

Yet another strange thing is Russia doesn't appear to be ramping up much its military industry. Like Russia should be in a war economy at this point. And considering Russia is a vast country of 146 million people, and Russia has endless amounts of resources, there is no reason Russia couldn't be cranking out more military equipment. Russian industry isn't really competitive in the world marketplace, but Russia does have a lot of industry for its internal economy and the ex-Soviet countries markets.

This could be a very big problem because Ukraine now has into the 100's of thousands of draftees in training. And though Ukraine is running low on a lot of its Soviet era military equipment, Ukraine has a steady flow of NATO supplied weapons coming in.

Both sides right now are thought to have about 200,000 soldiers in the conflict. With the Russian side being 125,000 Russian soldiers, and 75,000 soldiers from the DPR & LPR.

Ya I would call it a very big Russian victory if they are able to take the rest of the Donbas, plus the other areas they currently have, and defend and hold them. Even not being able to liberate the rest of the Donbas, but just holding all the areas Russia currently controls in Ukraine I would call a big victory as well.

This is a great map from Wikipedia showing the current situation in the Donbas. Thing is even if the Russians can get through the Severodonetsk-Lysychansk agglomeration, and to close the cauldron but the next battle in the Donbas would then be the Kramatorsk agglomeration.

Thing with Severodonetsk is it is on the eastern side of the river, while its sister city Lysychansk is on the western side of the river

I view the Russians as a simple farming people. They don't have the minds or the personalities for thinking and knowledge. Eg.. despite being very large in population they aren't really players in science or technology.

Putin must be 100% believing that victory in Donbass will put Ukraine on the peace table because not even he can be delusional enough to think that the current depleted army can take more than Donbass. They will be out of steam even if they win. Maybe send whichever BTGs that would be still functional to Kharkiv and southern axis for a few more minor gains but that's it.

For Russia is enough for Ukraine to give up on few territories eventually, not necessarily in one war and on NATO membership. If Russia went all in and spent a lot of resources NATO could take advantage of that and attack Russia while its weaken.

Ya I think the Russians aren't politically willing or able to take the losses that a mass infantry army and storming these Ukrainian cities would mean.

Its like in Severodonetsk, the Russians have been artillery it down for like 2 months now. But the Ukrainians are still there just in these big buildings and underground. To actually get the Ukrainians out would take going in with infantry and fighting building to building basically. Which would be monster casualties on both sides. With also both sides flowing in more infantry to fight it out.

The talk is that although Russian artillery they have an absolute ton of it and doing very well with it.. the Russian infantry is more or less depleted at this point. And Russians aren't that keen on dying in infantry charges on these cities.

The other thing the Russians ordinarily have is their massive amounts of heavy armored vehicles, but the Javelins made those not viable for going into cities. So the Russians are using the tanks like artillery.
