This blonde roof rat (which is a marker of domestication judging from the depigmentation of fox fur in the "silver fox" experiment) is 30 generations or more removed from wild roof rats, this is a project that is attempting to do something which has never been done before. Domestication of wild animals is incredibly fascinating.
