Roblox is really strange now

It's SUCH a mixed bag.

I've been playing it on and off for almost 8 years now and... overall I'd say it was better back then because the games were designed for PC first, so they were really ambitious at least relative to now when most of them are simple mobile games.

So the old great games don't get much love anymore so are a bit undermaintained.

Well, other than Mad City which is totally great now except for a bit buggy.

Honestly it was very good in around 2019 though. Jailbreak, Mad City, Flood Escape 2, Piggy, etc.

Maybe it was a different game but I don't think it was worse.

It's like you can't fully win with how it is now. Either you play the modern games that are mostly fairly simple, bland mobile experiences or you play the PC-tier games that don't get much love anymore.

I mean, overall I still think it's a cool platform and has enough to keep me playing, but it's clearly not on the same level as it was in 2019.

It's an engine though. You can make pretty much anything with it.

Roblox Studio is how you build new games.

I guess Roblox games do often have a sandbox feel to them, which can inspire new ideas.

But like, for example Flood Escape 2 really is a very good speed-based platformer. If it was made in Unity it would still be a very good speed-based platformer.

So 5 years ago we had these really quite grand, PC-focused games like Jailbreak and Mad City. With big events and all sorts.

And now we have... Steal A Brainrot. And stuff like that.
