'Parentification' is the lament of roasties who were forced to do chores during their childhood, and were not excessively coddled as children.
This irritates them so much because they were effectively socialized to not be entitled and narcissistic, but rather selfless and conscientious, which is an anachronism when compared to their peers.
And so they naturally come to resent the influence of their parents, and project the quality of narcissism onto them, despite being great examples of exploitative narcissists themselves, who deny others idyllic, formative experiences.
You see, the very same roasties who bitch about their parents not having pampered them enough as children, and thus having "denied them a childhood," also tell inkwells to stop complaining about age-related milestones like teenage love, and stop 'expecting things to just fall into place.'
Which goes to show that narcissism is just a relative term, that's ironically based on status considerations. Roasties feel entitled to their narcissism, and actively justify their arrogance, at the very same as they argue that incels should be humbled/humiliated out of any shred of dignity.
