One question I have is about Asian masculinity. Historically, in many Western racial and colonial representations, Asian men have often been portrayed as weak/feminine/undesirable, submissive, or sexually inferior. this racial emasculation was part of white supremacy and colonial power.
There is a growing desire among many Asian men to regain their masculinity, dignity, desire, and confidence.
So, from a Western feminist perspective, is this more understandable or more defensible than other forms of masculinity, because it is partly a reaction against racial castration?
