I finally beat Resident Evil: Requiem, and I can tell you, there are some parts where the game really shines, but most of the time it feels like a cheap fan service

I mean, the setting is awesome, and overall the game has an incredible art style, but even so, it still suffers from serious gameplay issues

Most of the boss fights are pretty bad, most of the chases follow a very basic script, and overall the gameplay has several issues

The worst part of this game is the fan service that’s basically shoved in the player’s face, especially in the middle of it, where Leon basically returns to raccoon city. At that point in the game, everything was done with the sole intention of pleasing those masturbators resident evil fanboys

Game play was fairly decent imo, the switch between 5-6 style of game play for leon and 7-8 style game play for grace was really cool. I can certainly see how it could feel lacking for non die hard resi fans though.

I think requiem was a bitter sweet way to tie a knot on the resi I know and love, they get to move on and make new shit. I'm not saying I'm going to stick around for the new stuff though, I'm just here to experience this chapter end and I'm fairly happy with the experience I had.

The only reason for me to even consider touching RE atp is HUNK.

Also, spoiler alert, it was not the real HUNK in Requiem.

HUNK would've owned Leon so hard, even his great grandchildren would've felt that ownage.

HUNK is lifefuel for me. I hope he simply offs all RE heros. But of course he won't. Crapcom needs to milk this cow for all its worth.
