It was his fault just as much as the others. The other used a conflict Hitler already deliberately started as an excuse to start a bigger war.

Hitler did not have a choice in attacking poland. The clear goal of the NSDAP from the very start was to reverse the treaty of Versailles, restore all German land, and destroy communism. They were never going to fall short of these goals, nor should they have, it was what everyone in Germany and especially the party wanted.

Poland had annexed 99% ethnically German land and began cleansing it of the german populace, taking their homes and giving them to polish people. The Germans could not possibly allow this to happen, especially considering that it was the Germans who had in essence created the Polish state during WW1 when previously they were simply annexed by the Russian empire, and Germany had from my knowledge done nothing wrong to Poland for the Germans of prussia to deserve such a fate.

Even with the great injustice that poland was enacting against the Germans, Hitler offered them a way out. Protection against the obviously hostile Soviet Union which had invaded poland previously, in return for giving the GERMAN land back. They of course refused this offer. On top of this Hitler offered to draw troops out of all non German land in his invasion of poland in return for peace, this was also denied.

Hitler had also told his generals that he did not believe the British empire or the French were willing to start another world war over him taking german land back from poland, he claimed it would not happen and he very obviously hadn't wanted to conquer the British. You cannot put full blame of WW2 onto Hitler, what he did was not evil and made much sense from his perspective, it was Winston churchill who drove WW2 into action

This doesn't change the fact i was saying. He moved the first chess piece. Hitler called the draft first, way before england when he sent his men to poland and other countries. This is literally "starting the war" by definition. It doesn't matter what the stated reason was.

They were very lenient and already allowed him to have Austria and Czecho-Slovakkia in hopes that his thirst would be satisfied but he just had to keep going. They gave him a pass to break the treaty as long as he didn't went too far but he still went there.

Hitler talked about Lebensraum before he even got into power, so the excuse that he had to save the supposed germans is an excuse. His ambition was a german empire in Eastern-Europe.
