I remember watching it last year up to the end of season 4 and thought it had a few blemishes but was peak. Couldn't wait for the new season. First episode of season 5 came out recently and I just realized how shit it is. It's not even distinguishable from all the other isekai slop. Subaru is a pedo chad and half the show is just him pulling little girls.

There's also the fact that magic shows can pull shit out of their ass. Magic doesn't have clear rules or limitations so we can have ex machinas to move forward the plot. I mean, s5 ep1 did nothing besides tell us that apparently there is a great sage that was hiding somewhere that was completely irrelevant to the story before that can now solve all our problems. We also learn that lady anastasia is apparently asleep. I mean why did we need to do that? Where did that plot point come from? These bullshit shows have no organic plot development. Unfortunately, due to how much shows are hyped up, people will rate them highly. Just take a look at JJKslop. Piece of shit with the least original writing and yet it's rated a high 8 on MAL just because normies like it.

Want to look at an actual good show? Take a look at something like AoT or kingdom. Far more organic plot development and the writers don't pull shit out of their ass.

1. reincarnation to a high fantasy world
2. lots of haremslop or low quality romance
3. shit plot
4. usually 1 or 2 seasons and then the series is over or never produced again
5. mediocre action

Exactly. Technically, isekai is just about every story where the protagonist gets transported/reincarnated into a different world, but like 90% of them just rehash the same milked-to-dead formula.
